Why run a Proof of Concept?

The boardroom objection to Apple is almost always the same: "How do we know it'll work in our environment?" A structured POC answers that question with data, not vendor promises.

We deploy 2 real devices to 2 real employees across distinct role groups (nominated by the company). Every device runs your MDM platform, your business applications, and your security policies. After 14 days, you have measurable productivity data, user satisfaction scores, IT support ticket rates, and a deployment architecture that's already proven in your environment.

That's the business case your board needs. And it's what 9 in 10 of our POC clients present before approving a full fleet migration.

Programme Structure

Three phases. Fourteen days.

  • Day 1

    Phase 1: Setup & deploy

We configure your MDM environment, enrol the 2 POC devices via Apple Business, deploy your business applications, and brief your POC participants on what to expect.

    • MDM platform configuration (Jamf/Intune/Mosyle/Meraki)
    • Apple Business onboarding
    • Zero-touch device enrolment for both devices
    • Business application deployment and testing
    • Security policy and compliance profile deployment
    • POC participant briefing and onboarding session
    • Baseline productivity and satisfaction survey
  • Week 1

    Phase 2: Live operation

POC participants use their Apple devices for all daily work. We monitor, support, and measure. Fortnightly check-ins with your IT lead to track issues and resolutions.

    • Full production use by both participants
    • iStore Business helpdesk support for POC cohort
    • IT support ticket volume tracking and categorisation
    • Weekly automated satisfaction pulse surveys
    • Application compatibility issue logging and resolution
    • Security event and compliance monitoring
    • Fortnightly steering committee update calls
  • Week 2

    Phase 3: Measure & report

We compile all data into a structured results report and present findings to your executive team, with a recommended scaling approach and full commercial proposal for enterprise rollout.

    • End-of-POC satisfaction and productivity survey
    • IT support ticket analysis vs. Windows baseline
    • Security compliance posture review
    • Application compatibility resolution summary
    • TCO analysis and 3-year financial modelling
    • Board-ready results report compiled
    • Executive presentation and Q&A session
Success Criteria

Defined measures. Objective data.

We agree success criteria with your IT and business leadership before the POC begins. The report measures outcomes against those criteria, giving your board objective evidence, not anecdotes.

  • User experience

    • Employee satisfaction score (NPS) vs. baseline
    • Task completion time for key workflows
    • Self-reported productivity rating by role group
    • Training support requests post-onboarding
    • Net new skill adoption (Keynote, Shortcuts, etc.)
  • IT operations

    • Helpdesk ticket volume vs. Windows baseline
    • Average ticket resolution time
    • Zero-touch deployment success rate. Usually above ≥95% first-attempt
    • MDM enrolment and policy compliance rate
    • Patch compliance within 48hr of release
  • Security & compliance

    • Security incidents per 100 devices vs. baseline
    • FileVault encryption compliance rate
    • Malware detection events (security incidents requiring remediation)
    • CIS Benchmark compliance score at close (CIS macOS Level 1)
    • POPIA compliance posture assessment
What You Receive

Your POC results report

At the end of the 14-day POC, you receive a structured report designed to be presented directly to your board or executive committee.

  • Quantitative results dashboard: Side-by-side comparison of all measured metrics against your Windows baseline and the agreed POC success criteria. Charts, graphs, and statistical summaries ready for board presentation.

  • Employee feedback analysis: Anonymised satisfaction data, NPS scores, and qualitative feedback by role group. Verbatim quotes from participants for the "voice of the employee" section of your board pack.

  • Security posture report: 14-day security event log, CIS compliance score, and comparison of Apple's native security performance against your existing Windows endpoint estate.

  • 3-Year TCO model: Full cost comparison in South African Rand, device, MDM, support, training, and productivity value, across a 3-year period for the proposed fleet size.

  • Enterprise rollout architecture: A proven, tested deployment architecture built on what we learned in your environment during the POC, with zero guesswork because we've already deployed it.

  • Phased rollout plan: A department-by-department migration roadmap with timeline, resource requirements, and change management recommendations, ready to start executing immediately after board approval.
